Porch renovation - Week 2 (Jun 11-16)

This week say the start of the framing and installation of the flooring on the porch. Things got off to a slow start as the inspector wasn't able to come check out the holes until Tuesday. Meaning that Tuesday they'd pour the footings and have to wait till Wednesday to install the supports. And on Wednesday, the lumber didn't show up till near the end of the days. Still, they managed to get nearly everything they had planned to done in a week (only thing stopping them was running out of porch floor boards).

Here's the east side with the basic framing being started. You can see the support posts sticking out of our government approved holes.

And the same from the west
Here is the east side again, once all the floor framing was complete. There is a lot of lumber in there - our architect used an unconventional means of carrying the load which uses a fair amount of wood. Looks like it'll last for a few thousand years though

Here's the porch after they finished up for the day. It's nearly entirely covered with flooring. Only the last foot or so near the house is still open.
