Construction Week 27 (May 7-18)
Much of the interior finish work is complete. We have light! (first time in 6 months). As this page is being updated, the only items left inside are one more coat of poly on the floor (Monday), setting the tile (Wed), installing the shoe molding, putting the french doors and close doors (after they are back from the finisher), shelves for the bookshelves and painting. Since we don't want to pain until most of the interior is complete, that may be about 2 weeks out.
The front porch project has been vacilating. After the last update, the project was put on hold, the dumpster removed and the plan was to start in June. Now it is on again - starting next week. The punch list of interior items is getting shorter all the time!

This shows the screen wall from the dining room. The wood is finished and the light fixtures are installed. |

This is the north side of the screen wall as seen from the living room. |

This is a view of the north west corner of the living room. The closet door is off and will be returned next week. |

Here's a view of the north wall of the living room as taken from the basement access. |

This is a view of the north east corner of the living room. The fire place will be tiled this coming week. The bare bulb on the ceiling is a "placeholder" until I get a chance to create the light fixtures (sigh...) |
 |
Here's a view of the basement access on the south wall of the dining room. You can see the lighting fixtures in there (finally). |

This is a view of the north east corner of the study. The doors should be back later this week. |

Here is the south wall in the study. The shelves should be be back as well later this week. |

This is a clipped view of the west wall of the study. We put a piece of sheetrock up painted as we plan to paint that room and by cropping the image, you get a real feel for what it will look like. |

Finally, we planted our flowers for the season. We're not doing much with the lawn yet as it's bound to get beat up in the next two months as the porch project gets underway. I love spring in Ann Arbor - it's hard to beleive there is a more beautiful place on earth right now. |
