Construction Week 16 (Feb 26-Mar 2)

Work on the interior trim continues (as it really will for most of the rest of this project). The Screen wall is almost finished. They also started on work in the study this week.

This is the screen wall columns from the south looking north. You can see the cross piece sticking through with the wooden key through the side. These just look great!
Here is the view from the north (Living room) looking south
Here is a near finished section of the study wall. You can see the battens and base trim. There is a shelf atop the wainscoting that isn't yet installed.
This is the basic window seat construction. The box is constructed (using LVLs - it'll never warp) and oak paneling. The battens haven't bee installed yet. You can, however, see the air vent we are using at the base of it.
This is the interior of the seat. The plans called for exposed plywood, but the guys thought that wasn't going to look as nice as the rest of the place and used more oak panels. There is shoe molding at the bottom corners (a very nice touch) and all in all, a very nice touch.
